LoveMarkdown is a free online converter that turns Markdown into PDF, Word, HTML, LaTeX, Google Docs, Confluence markup, and images — and turns PDF, Word, HTML, and Google Docs back into Markdown.

What Makes It Different

Most online converters upload your file to a server. LoveMarkdown doesn't. Every conversion runs as JavaScript in your own browser, so the document you paste or open never travels anywhere. There is no upload endpoint to leak, no queue to be stored in, and no retention window to trust — the file simply never leaves your device.

That design choice is also why the tool is fast and why it works offline once the page has loaded.

Why It's Free

Because there is no server doing the work, running LoveMarkdown costs very little. There is no per-conversion processing bill to recover, which is why no feature is locked behind an account, no watermark is stamped on your output, and there is no Pro tier gatekeeping file formats.

How We Handle Your Data

Who Writes This

LoveMarkdown is built and maintained by a small team of developers who write Markdown daily and wanted a converter that did not require handing a document to a stranger's server. The guides and tutorials are written by the same team, based on what we actually use.

How the Guides Are Written

Each article is written against the CommonMark and GitHub Flavored Markdown specifications and checked by running the syntax through the converter on this site. Where a behavior differs between Markdown flavors, the article says so rather than presenting one dialect as universal. Posts carry a visible publication date and are updated in place when the underlying specification or tooling changes.
